I am still on my summer holidays from school. Having a lot of fun learning new songs. @mychemicalromance was one of the most requested bands to cover. I heard my brother Thomas ‘Play That Funky Music’ for his drum exam and thought the song sounded fun to jam together. So I learned all the parts. Still getting used to playing #funk #rhythm on guitar. Song by Wild Cherry - Rob Parissi.

#MegWhite is my #Hero. The first day I got drums my dad showed me the video of #sevennationarmy by The White Stripes. I saw Meg playing the drums and thought she was the coolest person in the world. I still do. The more I learn about music, the more I realise that songs, and art, are created to wake emotions deep inside the soul. No matter how fast my fills get or the number rudiments I learn. If I can’t write a song that moves people, then can’t call myself an artist. Meg and @officialjackwhite wrote some of the best songs in #rock #history. They moved me at 5 years old to want to play the drums and still move me today! My screams are for you Meg! You are and always will be my role model and hero! Nandi x.

This was the most difficult drum cover I have ever made. Learning Caravan from the movie Whiplash took me 3 months. First I needed to learn new techniques, then memorise all the sheet music. I was hard! I pushed myself and practiced so much. It took a week of trying to film. This song takes so much energy and stamina. I needed to concentrate like I had never concentrated before. It was not easy! I kept on practicing.
I love to keep improving and getting better. I wonder how I will play this song in a few more years.
I also wonder how many - 'Not my tempo' jokes I will get...
